  3. I read an article in the last Grapevine (5) that attempted to deal with time
  4. travel, so seeing as My hobby used to be Theoretical physics I decide to
  5. stick my nose into this topic and bore you to death, tough.

  7. The article went along with a generally accepted theory of Travelling through
  8. time and particularly centred on the effects `Changing` the past might have
  9. on the `present`. Putting it basically most people believe that if we were
  10. to travel back in time and change the past one of two things would happen:
  11. 1. An `alter reality` would be created that would exist in near parallel to
  12. the one which the time traveller originally came from, but would be created
  13. and changed from the point at which he made his altarations.
  14. 2. The famous `Paradox`, it`s incredible to believe that many scientist still
  15. accept this nonsence as feasible. In this situation its is believd that any
  16. change in the past might not be channeled to an alter-reality but move rather
  17. like a ripple throughout time, causing great unexpalined change in the
  18. present the traveller left, the bigger the alteration the bigger the paradox,
  19. eg. You might come back and kill your father, there by ending your existence
  20. in the present you came from, it would be necessry for you to exist in order
  21. to come back and stop yourself evr existing, we have a paradox situation.
  22. This may make sense to most of you but that`s because it`s too easy to
  23. believe, it`s total nonsense.

  25. The above theories may work in the movies but I`m afraid Time is too
  26. complicated a thing to confuse even more. Want to have a stab at the truth?
  27. In order for time-travel to exist time itself would have to be an infinity
  28. therefor rendering it a `timeless` unit plane, ie. the every moment of past,
  29. present and future would have to exist simultaneously. If. this is true and
  30. man eventually developed Time-travel there would be no risk of `Alter
  31. realities` or paradoxes. If he travels into the past and thinks he changes
  32. something then something will happen to counter act that change; Why would
  33. a Counter-Change occur? Very simply because it did in his past, it would have
  34. to have happened in order for him to believe there was something he needed to
  35. change, basically in his present he had already been in the past and tried to
  36. change something but somehow it had been stopped or covered up because in his
  37. present (Before he travels back in time) he thinks nothing`s changed.
  38. Confused? Put it this way, If someone travelled back in time to kill Hitler
  39. he would fail, or they would do something to replace Hitler or make people
  40. think he still lived, the proof would be that in the travellers present,
  41. Before the trip, It is believed that Hitler Lived until the end of the war.
  42. It is the ultimate in cosmic protection, you cannot change your present by
  43. changing your past , with the simple proof that you didn`t.

  45. On other thing to think about is that if man developed Time-travel we would
  46. probably already know, unless they were very careful, as they could appear in
  47. anytime before they developed it, they could be here right now.
